Bifocal Contact Lenses

Lenses to let you see in the distance and close up for reading. If you are just starting to wear reading glasses or have been for some time these could be the lenses for you.

There are lots of lenses on the market but we are particularly keen on two -
Acuvue bifocal and the Ciba vision Far and Near lenses. These are both disposable soft lenses.

These are the best on the market, but we must confess immediately, they do not work for everybody. The problem with all bifocal contact lenses is a loss of contrast sensitivity ( a bit of a haze round things for the layman). However about 60% of people find them excellent. 

This is an exciting area of optics where great strides are being made in research. We hope you respect our honesty in giving independent advice, they are not perfect but they are certainly worth consideration.
